Mobility #4 : Belgium - English text

The GO! Atheneum Geraardsbergen organized an Erasmus project last week for delegations of teachers and students from Lithuania, Romania, Greece, Turkey and Portugal. During the week, the Geraardsbergse Atheneum hosted an Erasmus project that focuses on educational development and innovation in the various European countries. Several pupils from the Atheneum hosted as a host family a peer from one of the participating European countries. The program was enormously varied and varied pedagogical workshops with cultural excursions. On Monday an interesting virtual reality and gamification workshop was on the program, alongside a general focus on web tools and the use of the multi-ethnics calendar on the school's Chromebooks. The day was started with an amusing opening ceremony, which was consecrated by the Geraardsberg Belleman. On Tuesday, the party went to Bruges where, in addition to a walk through the historic center, they also visited the fries museum and the "Halve Maan" brewery. Wednesday was dominated by the war past with a visit to Ypres, the Flanders Field Museum and various cemeteries. In the evening the international group attended the "Last Post tribute" at the Menin Gate. On Thursday they visited the town hall of Geraardsbergen and were welcomed by ships Duwyn. Of course a tour through the Manneken Pis Museum followed. While the students were exploring the city, the teachers were immersed in a "coding" workshop. At the end of the week, a few more workshops followed and a pleasant get-together ended. The GO! Atheneum Geraardsbergen is happy to invest in the international exchange of ideas and competences. This exchange therefore fits within a series of international projects in which many pupils also go abroad for cultural and educational projects.
