Senior High School of Tychero is a secondary, three-year public school for students between the ages of 15 and 17. It provides general education and leads into tertiary education. According to the Greek Educational System, the students at 11th Grade can choose 1 of the 2 Orientation Groups: the Humanities or the Sciences. There are also subjects that are taught for all students, such as History, Informatics, Foreign Language, Physical Education, etc There are also Extracurricular Activities that take place in our school, such as Environmental Club, Theater Club and eTwinning Projects. This year we run four eTwinning projects related to Mediterranean Songs, The poetic Balkans - a message for peace, Programming (Develop Apps), Digital Learning and Robotics. Our school is
certified as an eSafety School, according to the European Schoolnet and has been awarded with the Golden Label. Our school is located in a small town, therefore it is really small. This year we have 35 students and 10 teachers. Most of the teachers have been working in our school for many years. -Our place is found at the borders of the Greek state. It receives the great and revitalizing influences by its neighbors, the Turks and the Bulgarians. On the other hand our pupils have the need to feel being part of a broader frame and participate in the European dimension of the education which leads to the reconciliation of the peoples and which can be the answer to all the modifications that happen now in the Europe. Another factor the plays its significant role for wishing to take part in a programme like this is the fact that it is mainly based on the distance work and our school, because of the described location above, does not have so many opportunities to participate in European or other cooperating programmes which may happen in the schools of the cities. -There is a small group of teachers who will work together for the project from the early stage of design and application till the end. Mrs Stella Tryfonidou, ICT teacher will be in charge of running the project. She has been working in our school for 7 years and she won’t leave her post for the next 2 years. Mrs Spyridoula Papadreou, teacher of language, literature, history and music has been working in this school in a permanent position for the last three years. -Mrs Tryfonidou has been involved in many European projects, conferences, seminars and MOOCs organized by European Schoolnet and has an academic and professional experience in Internet Safety Issues and Developing Applications. Mrs Spyridoula Papadreo has a valuable experience in coordinating an Erasmus+ Project in the past. She has also runned etwinning programmes and programmes related to the emotional health. She has also completed seminars about the integration of the digital learning in her lessons and now is doing a seminar of the Etwinning concerned the Tools for producing educational material.
